Johns Creek Man Finds Shoplifting can be a Felony

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

An unemployed Johns Creek man knows for sure that shoplifting $500 or more worth of merchanside from a store is a felony in Georgia after he allegedly took three pairs of eyeglasses worth $503 from Macy's without paying.

A loss prevention officer at the North Point Mall store on Dec. 28 spotted a man selecct three pairs of glasses and then concel them up the sleeves of his shirt and jacket. The suspect walked out of the store without paying for the items, according to an Alpharetta police officer's incident report. The Macy's officer stopped the man and brought him back to Macy's where the glasses were recovered.

Kareem O. Cabble, 36, of Nesbit Ferry Road, Johns Creek, was charged with one felony count of shoplifting. He was released from Fulton County Jail on Dec. 30 and is awaiting trial.
