The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Champion Hills Drive man was in his upstairs office on a business call the afternoon of July 16 when someone tried to kick in his front door several times when he didn't answer the door.

The Milton resident said upon hearing the kicking, he went downstairs with a handgun. Once the young man outside the door saw him, the suspect ran away. Right after that a white Ford Escort made a U-turn in his driveway and sped off.

Only minor damage was done to the front molding of the house in the attempted break-in.
