Home Care Worker Arrested on Probation Violation after Escaping Police

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An air conditioning service man called Milton police on June 7 when an elderly resident told him she feared for her life from her husband. When police arrived, however, the problem they found was with the person who was there to help take care of the woman.

Police tried to identify the home care worker, who identified herself as a licensed practical nurse. She didn't have any identification, and gave a name that couldn't be found through a check  by dispatch. A more thorough check by a police supervior who also answered the call returned a different name than what the care worker offered.

The computer check also revelaed she was wanted by Pennsylvania and Paulding County police for a probation violation.

When the police lieutenant tried to get her fingerprints with a scanner, the woman fell to the ground, apparently having a seizure. When she was taken to North Fulton Hospital, a doctor said that while she may be feeling ill, she was not having a seizure. When she was taken back for a CT scan, she ran out of the hospital. Eventually she was seen walking along GA 9, and was picked up and arrested.

Scottie Koziac Wilcox, 36, of Acworth, was arrested on charges of escape, wanted person on probation violation and false representation to police. She remained in Fulton County Jail.

Filing Taxes Returns a Warning from the IRS

Milton residents continue to report their identities were stolen to file tax returns. On June 8, a Wytheford Court resident told Milton police that when he tried to file his federal tax return on April 15, the IRS told him a tax return had already been filed using his identity.

The victim told police he has reported the identity theft to the credit agencies and is waiting to hear back from the IRS on their investigation.
