Grocery Store Cashier Accused of Stealing from Register

A Milton grocery store cashier was arrested after being accused of stealing $1,800 from her register drawer.

Milton Police Officer S. Mulvey reported in an incident report that the Aldi store manager called Milton Police on Ga. 9 on Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. on a theft call. The manager said he caught a cashier taking money from the register, and had video on the days in question.

The cashier, Christine Dacquis of Canton, said she took money out five to eight times, according to Mulvey's report. The store manager had bank statements showing a different amount of cash deposited than what matched store records.

The 40-year-old suspect filled out a statement saying she took the money, according to the report.

She was arrested and cited with theft by taking–greater than $500.

Hair Salon Employee Loses Cash, Personnel Files to Thief

A hair salon manager reported losing cash, employee paychecks and employee files when someone broke into his car in Milton.

Milton Police report that the man said on Feb. 4 he went to the Bank of America on Windward Parkway and then drove over to Home Depot across the street. When he returned to his car, he discovered the trunk had been forced open. He reported the thief took $300 in cash, two employee checks and several employee files containing personal and medical information.

Home Depot promised to forward Officer K. Stephens' contact information to a loss prevention officer so the surveillance video can be viewed.

Window Tint Violation Leads to Drug Arrest

A Cumming man was arrested on drug charges in Milton after being stopped on Feb. 5 for a possible window tint violation.

Officer B.C. Kiel was parked at the Avensong subdivision clubhouse watching for traffic violations when he saw a Jeep Cherokee drive by with its driver's side window appearing too dark for legal limits. He pulled the vehicle over. When he began talking with the driver, Officer Kiel said in his incident report that he smelled what seemed to be marijuana from the car, and observed what appeared to be a stem and pieces of marijuana on the carpet of the car by the driver.

K-9 Officer DaSilva also smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Jacob Daniel Hansard, 18, of Cumming, was arrested and cited for possession of marijuana of less than one ounce, vehicle window tint violation and for a broken taillight.

Swerving into Left Lane Results in DUI Arrest

A Roswell woman was arrested for DUI after Milton Police observed her vehicle crossing the center line on Crabapple Road numerous times on Feb. 5.

Officer J.M. Hickerson said in his incident report that he was patrolling on Mayfield Road near its intersection with Broadwell Road, Crabapple Road and Birmingham Highway when he observed a Ford Explorer enter Crabapple Road going west. When the vehicle made the turn, it traveled into the left lane, something it did several more times until he pulled it over.

Adrienne R. Oakley, 39, of Roswell, was arrested and cited for DUI and failure to maintain lane.

K-9 Officer Confirms Drugs for Another Arrest

A driver's failure to stay in his own lane netted Milton Police another drug arrest on Feb. 6.

Officer B.C. Kiel was parked at Morris Road near Lathame Lane at 3:40 p.m. when he observed a Chevy Impala swerve, crossing a double yellow line into a left turn lane. According to his incident report, Kiel observed the driver showing indications of marijuana abuse.

The motorist refused consent to search his car, so K-9 Officer DaSilva was brought to the car, where the police dog indicated it smelled drugs in the car. A search turned up a glass pipe with marijuana in it. The motorist revealed he had a plastic bag with four pills that are a controlled substance, and told police he had a small bag of marijuana in the trunk.

Michale David Muchmore, 21, of Cumming, was arrested and cited for possesion of controlled substance, possession of marijuana and failure to keep drugs in the original container.
