Get Rid of Old Prescriptions Safely

Is your medicine chest filled with prescriptions that you no longer need? Those might be a danger to family members, so the Milton Police Department will take part in the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Saturday, April 28.

"This is a great opportunity for those who have accumulated unwanted or unused prescription drugs to safely dispose of them," said Community Outreach Officer Ara Baronian. "The last thing you want is a young family member experimenting with the pills or to take a pill that could have gone bad."

In the last 13 months, participants nationwide turned in more than 995,185 pounds (498.5 tons) of unwanted or expired medications for safe and proper disposal at the 5,327 take-back sites that were available in all 50 states and U.S. territories.    

The Walmart is located at 5200 Windward Parkway (click here for directions). All forms of prescription drugs will be taken, no matter how old.
