Gordon's release said Burt was uncooperative with detectives. He said he was allegedly shot by the brother of one of the three other suspects in the North Point Mall robbery. By Burt's account, the shooting appears to be retaliation because the shooters brother was arrested.

According to the Fulton County Inmate website, Burt was released from the Fulton County Jail, with charges from Alpharetta, Dawson County and Union City Police Department.
