Forsyth Sheriff’s Office Investigates Twin Boys’ Illness

An investigation is underway concerning the illness of two Forsyth County twin boys.

An investigation is underway by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office concerning circumstances surrounding the illness of twin 4-year-old boys.

Early Monday morning the Forsyth County Fire Department responded to a report of a young boy who was unresponsive. The child was transported to Northside Hospital-Forsyth and then to Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta.

According to Captain Jason Shivers, shortly after noon officials were dispatched to a different location, off Little Mill Road, where another young child was reportedly ill. It was later discovered the children were siblings, twin 4-year-old boys.

“This young boy (the second child) was having respiratory problems, trouble breathing and extreme respiratory issues,” said Captain Shivers. “He was transported to Egleston Hospital.

Shivers said while officials were at the second location, an ambulance was summoned for a third child, the 2-year-old sister of the twin boys. She was also transported to Egleston.

In a statement by Captain Tim House, the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations and Special Victims Unit are interviewing family members trying to determine the cause for the children's illness.
