First Lady Heads Out of Town After Speech in Alpharetta

Michelle Obama talks to parents at North Point Community Church about preventing childhood obesity

First lady Michelle Obama has left Alpharetta after giving a speech on childhood obesity prevention to paretns at North Point Community Church. She left the city at about 5 p.m.

Traffic on Old Milton Parkway and North Point Parkway was backed up for a half hour before her departure as Alpharetta Police selectively allowed lanes to clear onto streets not part of her route out of town.

There's one way to get through bumper-to-bumper traffic on GA 400, and that's a rolling roadblock. First lady Michelle Obama's security team used one to get from Atlanta to Alpharetta, and heading back out of town.
