Fire Sends Alpharetta Couple To Hospital, Damages Home

Waters Mill Drive home was filled with smoke when Alpharetta emergency crews arrived.

An Alpharetta couple were taken to North Fulton Hospital for observation after a fire started in their Waters Mill Drive home early on Friday.

The wife called 911 at approximately 1:30 a.m. to say her home may be on fire, according to a release by George Gordon, public information officer for the Alpharetta Public Safety Department.

Within three minutes Alpharetta police and fire units arrived on scene at the home. They found the home was filled with smoke when they forced entrance. The couple was found in an upstairs bathroom and were rescued from the home, along with their pets.

The home sustained moderate fire damage to a downstairs basement area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
