Fake Driver's License, Forgery Lead to Covington Man's Arrest in Alpharetta

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Alpharetta police officer's traffic stop netted an arrest for the passenger having a fake driver's license and several debit cards using that forged identification.

The officer's incident report states that he was driving east on Mansell Road when a 2007 white Scion crossed the double yellow center lines with its driver side wheels. When he returned to the car after checking the driver's license and insurance, the officer said he saw the driver place something toward the center console and the front seat passenger pushing his hands down the side of the passenger seat by the center console. So he called for a K-9 unit, which made a positive hit on the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle located a small plastic bag with suspected marijuana in a purse on the rear floorboard near the center console. An open container of beer was found in the back also.

As the search continued, the officer found several gift cards/Green Dot debit cards and a forged driver's license out of Connecticut from the side of the seat where the passenger was seen pushing his hands down. The fake license had the passenger's photo on it with a different name.
