Drivers Nearly Sideswipe Each Other at 70 mph in Alpharetta

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two drivers were arrested by Alpharetta police on June 27 when two cars were observed speeding as each attempted to be the front car when the right lane ended on a stretch of GA 9 between Windward Parkway and Cogburn Road.

A Lexus was clocked at 64 mph and a Ford Taurus at 68 mph in the 45 mph zone.

The Lexus veered from its lane, pushing the Ford into the left center turn lane, the report states. "Both vehicles now traveling early 70 mph nearly side swipe each other during their aggressive movements as they entered the intersection of Cogburn Road, the report states.

Both vehicles were stopped and both drivers were arrested.

Kip Cale, 36, of Cumming, and Raghav Aggarwala, 30, of Alpharetta, were charged with speeding, aggressive driving and reckless driving.
