Driver Should Have Listened to Alpharetta Officer Earlier

Motorists in Alpharetta cited for DUI after traffic stops.

A Cumming man who was told not to drive earlier in the evening was arrested two hours later on March 3 at 12:25 a.m. when he failed to follow an officer's suggestion.

Alpharetta Police Officer Schults was at Cotton Creek Entry with Officer D. Lambert when they saw a man in a silver Chevy Impala. Schults said the driver was told two hours earlier not to drive because he was under the influence of alcohol, according to Lambert's report. The suspect told him he had waited two hours and wanted cigarettes.

Brian Douglas Skinner, 23, of Cumming, was cited for DUI.

Driver Caught as Car Travels Into Intersection at Red Light

An Alpharetta man whose car approached a red light on March 3 at 11:39 p.m. at the Westside Parkway/Old Milton Parkway intersection caught the attention of an Alpharetta Police officer when all four of the vehicle's wheels went past the stop bar before it stopped.

The silver Honda Accord turned wide onto GA 9 from Old Milton, crossing both lanes. It turned into the drug store parking lot and continued around the corner before stopping.

Anjal Vipin Majimundar, 27, of Alpharetta, was cited for DUI and failure to maintain lane.

Speeding on Windward Parkway Gives Reason for Traffic Stop

An Alpharetta man was cited for DUI after police stopped him for speeding on Windward Parkway.

Alpharetta Officer C. Martin stopped a silver Pontiac Grand Am just before 1 a.m. on Feb. 27, reporting the vehicle had been traveling at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Officer M. Swerdlove responded to the scene when the driver admitted drinking two beers before getting behind the wheel, according to the incident report.

Eduardo Castrejon-Rodriguez, 22, of Alpharetta, was cited for DUI, driving while unlicensed and speeding.

Weaving, Driving Too Slow Leads to DUI Traffic Stop

Alpharetta Police Captain Terry Obsorne was driving southbound on March 1 at 10:19 p.m. on GA 9 near Lowes when she spotted a car whose driver possibly was under the influence. The car had left the La Parilla lot and was going southbound on the highway approximately 10 mph under the speed limit, weaving within its lane and crossing between lanes.

The car was stopped between Academy and Marietta streets on GA 9, according to Officer D. Dreslinksi's incident report.

Carol S. Miller, 62, of Roswell, was cited for DUI less safe and failure to maintain lane.
