Citizens Police Academy Wants You, Milton Residents
The Milton Police Department is accepting applications for its free Citizens Police Academy
The Milton Police Department wants a few good men and women to participate in its Citizens' Police Academy.
Registration is now open for residents who may be interested in taking part in the free, eight-week course.
The session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 to Nov. 15 at Milton City Hall's Council Chambers.

The 20 students selected will learn more about DUI and traffic stops, SWAT tactics, Taser and baton demonstrations, K-9 procedures, crime scene analysis and shooter scenarios.
All participants must be 18 years old and will also undergo a criminal background check before they are accepted.

"The Citizens' Police Academy is a unique opportunity for our residents to get a glimpse into what our training entails." said Community Outreach Officer Ara Baronian. "I think it also gives everyone a better understanding of the job officers are expected to perform."
