Cats and Burglars Attack in Milton

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 
An officer responded to a call on Sandringham Drive involving an altercation between two individuals and a cat. At approximately 1 a.m. on Dec. 4 a man stated that he and his girlfriend had been attacked by a cat when they returned home from a local bar.

Apparently, the girlfriend saw the cat as she was walking up the stairway to her apartment, picked it up, and began to pet it while continuing to the third floor. She is a cat owner and said that she feels very comfortable with cats. However, at some point the cat became agitated and scratched her on the right forearm.

The man then grabbed an oven mitten from inside the apartment but the cat bit through the oven mitt, leaving three bite marks on his right thumb. At this point, he threw the cat from the third floor balcony down to the parking lot and then called 911 to report the incident. Both victims had been drinkingl and had extreme difficulty explaining what happened.

The injured cat was taken to the and both victims volunteered to be transported by Rural Metro to .

The cat's owner couldn't be found.

Man’s Mailbox Damaged Several Times

A homeowner on Dorris Road called police on Dec. 9 after finding his mailbox had been knocked over during the night. That morning he found the mailbox laying on the ground with the concrete pad flipped over on it.

The victim said that the day before he had called police after finding that the mailbox was struck by a piece of pottery. He also claims that the mailbox had been damaged 5 different times and that he believes he knows who it might be. The victim did not want to give up the names of the suspected vandals, but said that he would contact police if he found out who it was.

Burglar Gains Access Through Bedroom Window

When a Milton man came home to his Morris Road apartment around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, he noticed that his front door, which he had locked earlier, was unlocked. When he entered the apartment he noticed that the window to his daughter’s bedroom was open. There were also many things missing from the apartment. Items missing are as follows:

  • 42" LG LCD TV
  • 32" LCD TV
  • Play Station 3 (PS3) with three controllers - Sony Laptop
  • Gibson Guitar
  • Apple Computer
  • 3G iPhone
  • Green Card

The officer noticed the that the open window appeared to be forced open. After leaving the scene, the officer received a call advising him that a contractor had been in the apartment the day before and had been in every room.

Theif Steals Razors From Publix Grocery Store

A man was spotted shoplifting packs of razors at the at Hwy. 9 and Bethany Bend on Dec. 9.

At approximately 11 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the shopping center and was met by the manager, who told him that a man put nine packs of Gillette Fusion razors in his pocket. He then walked past the cash registers and left the store.

The man, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans and work boots, drove away in a grey Dodge Charger. A copy of the video was given to the officer and placed into evidence.

Man Reports Rolex, Other Items Stolen

On Dec. 7 a man met with Milton Police at to report a theft that occurred around the beginning of September.

The man reported his Rolex watch, Titleist hat, Oakley sunglasses and Bushnell rangefinder were stolen at the While Columns club house while playing cards with friends.

He apparently left the items behind when he left the clubhouse. When he remembered his items, he turned around to retrieve them. He was unable to locate his things and did not remember if he was the last person to leave the room. The victim was only able to provide a serial number for his Rolex Watch.

Credit Card Used Fraudulently

An officer met with a Milton resident on North Park Lane on Dec. 6 who said that his Chase debit card had been used fraudulently. The victim told police that his card was used on Dec. 4 at several different locations, including McDonald’s and Kroger.

The victim last used his card at a local CVS and was notified of the unauthorized uses shortly after that.

His card was cancelled and the officer advised him to place a fraud alert on all of his accounts.

After meeting with the victim, the officer went to the CVS and spoke with a manager who told him that no security footage was available.
