Atlanta Man Charged with Forging Bills, Stealing Shirts

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

A suspected shoplifter at 's gave the loss prevention officer so much trouble that security officers had to help subdue and handcuff the man in an incident on June 2.

The Dillard employee said he watched the suspect conceal several items in a bag, and left the store without paying for them.

A check of the bag revealed 18 shirts that cost $1,633.

An Alpharetta police officer searched the suspect and discovered a counterfeit $20 and $5 bill.

The suspect, who called himself "Martin Brown," said, "I just found those."

William B. Moss, 51, of Atlanta, was arrested and charged with two felonies–forgery second degree and theft by shoplifting over $300–and giving false name to police. The officer also discovered Moss was wanted on a warrant out of Fulton County for entering auto.

He remains in Fulton County Jail in lieu of $22,000 bond.
