Alpharetta Woman, 44, Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

A single-vehicle crash over the weekend in north Forsyth County leaves a woman dead.

A 44-year-old Alpharetta woman died early Saturday morning after her vehicle crashed in a wooded area in North Forsyth county, authorities said.

Kathryn J. Dodd, 44, of Alpharetta, was dead at the scene after being ejected from her car, according to Cpl. David Garrison of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Dodd, who was driving a 2005 Nissan Maxima, was traveling west on Chattahoochee Road from Shady Grove Road when the vehicle left the roadway on the north side and struck a tree, Garrison said. A passerby saw Dodd's car leave the roadway around 2 a.m. and go down an embankment off Chattahoochee Road.
