Alpharetta Will "Aggressively" Enforce Traffic Laws During July 4 Weekend

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety will keep a diligent eye on those who drive under the influence or speed during the July 4 holiday weekend.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety announces the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety’s Operation Zero Tolerance campaign is underway in its jurisdiction. 

As we celebrate the July 4 holiday period, Alpharetta police "remind motorists to drive sober, drive safely, obey traffic laws and use your seatbelts," the agency said on Thursday.

Each year across our nation, thousands of motorists lose their lives due to alcohol involved vehicle crashes. Drunken driving victims are not a statistic. They are someone’s family member, relative, friend or child.

During the July 4 weekend, Alpharetta police will be aggressively enforcing traffic laws with a special emphasis placed on those who speed and drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

By reducing speed, obeying traffic laws, driving defensively and using a designated driver, citizens greatly increase their chances of having a safe, enjoyable holiday weekend.
