Alpharetta Public Safety Promotes Two Officers

New lieutenants picked city, job for many of the same reasons other residents moved to Alpharetta.

Recently the promoted two officers to lieutenant. Dennis Valone and Trent Lingram took their new positions earlier this month, and were honored in a short ceremony at the department headquarters on Old Milton Parkway.

Valone was hired in June 2007 out of Florida, where he had been working as a detective. He started out working in training, and helped get the Reinhardt University Public Safety Academy set up, said Gary George, director of Public Safety.

"He spent almost as many hours at at the academy as he did at work," George said, because it took a long time to put together.

Valone came out first in the lieutenant list. He took over the "D" Shift in Uniform Safety Patrol after a brief stint with an FBI task force.

"Trent was one of the 'Atlanta Gang' we hired," said George, one of five Atlanta police officers Alpharetta hired in 2006.
