Alpharetta Police Suspect DUI In GA 400 Wreck

Afternoon wreck sends driver, female and child passengers to North Fulton Hospital.

Alpharetta police plan to file DUI charges in connection with a wreck on GA 400 Friday afternoon that sent the pickup truck's three occupants to the hospital.

Alpharetta 911 received numerous emergency calls at 1:25 p.m. about a serious crash on GA 400 north of Old Milton Parkway.

The investigation revealed the green Ford Ranger was being driven north on GA 400 between Old Milton and Windward Parkway, said George Gordon, public information office for the Alpharetta Public Safety Department. The pickup's left rear tire blew, causing it to go out of control. After striking the median wall, it rebounded across all lanes of traffic. As it crossed the lanes, it was clipped by a van. The pickup next left the roadway and sideswiped one of the streetlight poles along GA 400. It rolled several times.

The male driver was ejected from the vehicle. The female passenger had visible injuries at the scene, but a child appeard unharmed. All three were taken to North Fulton Hospital.

Gordon's release stated charges are pending relating to this crash for DUI-alcohol, DUI-drugs, possession of marijuana and chld endangerment.
