Alpharetta Police Arrest Powder Springs Woman With Multiple Identities

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction

A Powder Springs woman who had two driver's licenses from different states and with different names on them – but her photo – was arrested on charges that she fraudulently used credit cards and identities.

Alpharetta police were called to Best Buy on North Point Drive on Nov. 19 after a woman opened an account with what turned out to be a fake New York license. She used the account to buy two iPad Airs in a $1,068 transaction. However, she left the fake license behind at the store.

When an officer stopped the woman on GA 400 northbound, he reported that she had opened a credit card account and attempted to buy the iPads.

Another officer discovered that she had a second license from California under a different name. This identity was used to open a credit card account at Macy's. She also had a Marriott Rewards Visa card opened with the California identity.

Amber Diane Weber, 22, of Irish Highland Drive, Powder Springs, was arrested and charged with identity fraud and financial transaction card fraud, both felonies. She remains in Fulton County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
