Alpharetta Offers Reward for Robbery Suspect

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is offering $1,000 for the location and capture of robbery suspect Kinneth Battle.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is upping the ante in its efforts to catch a suspect behind the robbery of a convenience store earlier this month

The agency is now offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the location and arrest of Kinneth Battle.

Anyone with knowledge of the suspect's location is asked to contact Lt. G. Davis at (678) 297-6337. Callers can also leave a message on Alpharetta's tip line at (678) 297-6307. The agency will keep all tipster information confidential.

At around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, Alpharetta 911 received a call from a store clerk at BP at 5005 Windward Parkway, and told dispatchers a robbery had taken place at the store.

The investigation determined two men entered the store. One suspect jumped the counter and "snatched the cash register drawer," the agency said in a news release.

Both men left the store and fled the scene in a Jeep parked on the side of the building, which authorities believed was occupied by Battle.

The store clerk was able to provide the license plate number for the Jeep, and the direction it traveled when it left the premises.

Alpharetta issued an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies. It was later determined the suspects drove to a home in Forsyth County, and pulled into the residence's garage.

As deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office pulled up to the home, one of the suspects, armed with a weapon, allegedly fled the house out the back door.

Authorities believe the weapon could be an AK-47, AR-15 rifle or a similar firearm.

Battle fled into a wooded area, and another suspect, Fredrequis Cobbs, was found hiding in the back floorboard area of the Jeep and was arrested.

The North Fulton SWAT team was activated and responded to assist the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. A large SWAT search operation took place in southern Forsyth County to no avail.

Battle, who is described as African-American, 5'10, 200 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes and has numerous tattoos on arms, legs and chest. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Battle, 21, is known to frequent the Planters Ridge apartment complex in Alpharetta as well as the Campbellton Road area in southwest Atlanta.
