Alpharetta Man in Custody as Armed Robbery Suspect

An Alpharetta man who allegedly conspired to commit armed robbery at the on Prominence Point Parkway in Canton was arrested on Friday, a spokeswoman for the said.

Tile Ceatrice McGill, 20, is being held in the  without bond on charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, theft by receiving stolen property (firearm), Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of drug related objects.

According to Sgt. Stacy Bailey, detectives set up surveillance near a residence in Canton where it was believed McGill would be traveling. Police stopped his 2004 Grand Prix at 10 p.m. June 1, then proceeded to search the vehicle.

During the search, detectives discovered about one ounce of marijuana and two firearms, Bailey said. One of the firearms was confirmed to be stolen from Cherokee County.

McGill was taken into custody without incident.

"The investigation is still ongoing with more arrests possible," Bailey said.
