Alpharetta Man Arrested on Drug Charges Outside Milton Shopping Center

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Milton police arrested an Alpharetta man on drug charges after a shoe store employee called to report a suspicious person sitting outside the business for a long time watching her.

According to an incident report, when police arrived they found the suspect apparently moved from Famous Footwear to sit in front of Ru San's, just north of Target.

The suspect told police first that he was waiting on a friend who was inside Kohl's, but later said the friend already had left to work at a nearby car wash where he also worked.

After getting permission, the man's book bag was searched and police reported finding unused syringes in a pocket, a glass pipe and a black plastic spoon, both with a white residue on them. That residue tested positive for meth, as did the contents of a small plastic bag in his jacket pocket.

Edgar R. Rodriguez-Gomez, 25, of Alpharetta, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, obstruction and possession and use of drug-related objects. He was released from Fulton County Jail on $12,000 bond.
