Alleged Milton Cattle Rustler Arrested Months After Livestock Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milton police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Marietta man was arrested five months after he allegedly stole a cow and kept the auction money for another cow he was to sell for his employer.

The suspect was supposed to take one of a Milton man's cow's to auction in early April 2012 and return the money to him. Instead, his employer said he also took an Angus cow that belonged to his neighbor and failed to return the auction money.

On Sept. 24, Milton police reported that Matthew Cody Henderson was arrested and charged with two counts of livestock theft and one count of theft by taking. He was released from Fulton County Jail on Sept. 26 $13,500 bond.

Yogurt Store Employee Charged with Theft

The owner of Brain Freeze Frozen Yogurt reported to Milton police on Oct. 1 that an employee took a cash box with $775 out of the business on Sept. 29.

Another employee advised the business owner on Monday that the cash box had been missing since 5 p.m. Saturday. A check of video surveillance showed the suspect taking the cash box and concealing it under her shirt and exiting the store.

Michelle Marie Kauffman, 29, of Alpharetta, was arrested Β on Oct. 1 and charged with theft by taking. She remains in Fulton County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bond.

Thief Breaks into 'Cue Restaurants Safe, Taking Cash

'Cue Restaurant was the scene of a burglary on Sept. 26, with a thief making away with the previous night's cash.

A Milton officer was dispatched to the restaurant on GA 9 after an employee discovered the restaurant's back door was open and someone had broken into the safe.

Surveillance video shows a man approach the front of the business at 7 a.m. He peered into the front window and then walked around to the back. After prying open the back door, he walked toward the cash register. Turning off power to part of the restaurant, the suspect then pried open the office door. The light-skinned male is seen on the video wearing a dark blue hat, a short-sleeve, green button up shirt, black jeans, white tennis shoes with a blue stripe, thick black rimmed glasses and gloves. He appears to either have a shaved head or is bald. Out of view, the suspect pried open the safe and took the $1,160 that was inside.

Copper Water Line Stolen from Construction Trailer

Three 100-foot rolls of copper water line and some other copper plumbing supplies were stolen from a D&H Construction trailer parked on Cowart Road between 6 p.m. Sept. 25 and 10 a.m. Sept. 26.

An employee of the construction company made the report, telling Milton police that the lock on the trailer was missing along with the copper supplies.
