UPDATE: The section of Academy Street closed because of a gas main break has reopened.
A section of Academy Street is closed between Westside Parkway and GA 9 because of a gas main break, according to Alpharetta Assistant City Administrator James Drinkard.
Find alternate routes, such as Old Milton Parkway, or go north and use Windward Parkway.
Construction crews struck the line while working on a road construction project. Utility crews have been notified and are in route. There is currently no estimate as to when the road section may reopen.
