$5,000 in Jewelry Missing from Apartment

An Alpharetta woman is missing $5,200 in jewelry and clothes from her Alpharetta apartment, according to an Alpharetta Police incident report.

On. Jan. 28 the 84-year-old Somerby Drive resident reported gold bracelets, an ivory necklace, gold earrings with pearls inset, a diamond solitaire, other jewelry and some shoes were missing.

She told Officer P. Hull that she was out of her apartment for four hours on Jan. 28 when she believes the items were taken.

Neighbor’s Remote Opens Homeowner’s Garage Door

A Black Bird Lane homeowner who noticed her garage door opened when her neighbor opened his garage door is now missing her driver’s license and checkbook.

On. Jan. 28 she noticed her garage door opened when her neighbor activated his door, and on Jan. 29 she was missing her license and checkbook.

The Alpharetta woman cancelled her checking account, and Officer V. Johnson was able to reset her garage door opener’s code.

Stolen iPod Touch, Laptop Shared by Family

A Surrey Point mother reported a burglary at her family’s home on Jan. 26.

It took the Alpharetta woman several days to report the theft because the iPod Touch and Dell laptop that were stolen are used by everyone in the family, so she needed to check with each of them first.

The iPod touch 32GB was valued at $299, and the laptop at $750, according to the incident report filed by Alpharetta Police Officer J. Hickel.

Stop for Broken Headlight Ends with DUI Arrest

A Gainesville man was cited for DUI and several other violations after an Alpharetta Police officer spotted a silver Cadillac traveling westbound on Windward Parkway on Jan. 28 at 10:55 p.m. with a headlight out.

Once stopped, Officer J. Simpson reported an odor of alcohol. According to Simpson’s incident report, the motorist said he had six beers before getting in his car.

Albert Alfred Atkins III, 25, of Gainesville, was cited for DUI, driving with a suspended license, headlight requirements and expired tag.
