Donald Mitchell Campaign Remains Positive

The campaign committee for incumbent City Councilman, Donald Mitchell, would like to let Alpharetta voters know that our campaign will continue its pledge to maintain a positive message and reject all negative "mudslinging" campaign tactics as we continue the positive momentum and move towards assisting Donald with a winning bid for re-election to City Council Post 1.

Our theory is simple: the citizens of Alpharetta want and deserve more than the same old, tired, negative campaign tactics designed to create division.  We are committed to rising above the negativity and remaining focused on all that is good about our great city.

Our campaign is about continuing and building upon the overwhelmingly positive momentum that has been created over the past two years in Alpharetta and residents don't need to look far to see the results of this momentum.

For example, after years of sitting abandoned, Westside Parkway was opened under Donald's tenure in office, thus providing much needed traffic relief for Alpharetta residents.

Shortly after taking office, Donald and his fellow Council members brought the Avalon project to fruition and rescued the eyesore known as Prospect Park which existed for years under previous administrations.

All Alpharetta citizens will benefit substantially from the City Center project which has been shepherded to its current state by Donald and his fellow Council members after sitting on the drawing board for nearly a decade.  This beautiful new complex will serve as the anchor for a revitalized, vibrant and successful downtown district which will benefit all residents of Alpharetta by adding new businesses, jobs and creating an enhanced quality of life for residents of our great city.

You see, we feel that because Donald has accomplished so many positive things, it makes sense for the message of our campaign to remain positive.  We are firmly convinced that by remaining positive about Donald's record and his fresh vision for the future of Alpharetta, we're already gaining enough traction to make others feel that their only hope to be heard is through negative tactics.

We really believe that this is an opportunity to shift the dynamic in local politics and prove that it is possible to not only win elections, but also to serve the interests of citizens by refusing to engage in negativity and instead remaining focused on continuing the positive momentum this city has built.

Of course, we hope that you, as an Alpharetta voter, will recognize the quality of this argument and choose action over accusations, merit over malice and above all progress over pessimism.

Please join us in this groundbreaking pursuit to set a new standard of elected officials by voting for Donald Mitchell on November 5 or via early voting at City Hall beginning October 28.
