Obituary: Theodore L. Conti, 87, of Alpharetta, World War II Vet

Funeral services are Saturday morning in Niceville, FL.

Theodore L. Conti, 87, of Alpharetta, peacefully passed away on Oct. 12, 2013, at his residence in Alpharetta, GA.

Ted was born Nov. 14, 1925 in Exeter, PA. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 until 1946 during World War II in the European Theater. Ted worked for the U.S. Army Electronics and Satellite Communications Command at Fort Monmouth, NJ as a logistics management engineer and consultant for 33 years, retiring in 1980. He then worked for ITT, and Analytics Inc., in NJ, until October 1991.

Ted and his loving wife, Frances, lived in West Long Branch, NJ where they raised three sons. Ted and Fran relocated to Niceville, FL in October 2002 to be close to family. Theodore was a loving husband, father and Pop-Pop. He was a generous man of honesty, integrity and compassion who will forever be in our hearts and dearly missed.

Theodore is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frances J Conti, and sister, Louise Orzechowski.

Survivors include his sons, Adam J Conti and wife June - Atlanta, GA., Bruce J Conti and wife Connie - Niceville, FL, Douglas P Conti - Covington, GA.; sister Janie Lemardy - Pittston, PA and five grandchildren: Lena Williams (Abner) and Pam Weeks (Jon) both of Niceville, FL, Katie Chavous (Chris) of Kathleen, GA, Adam Austin Conti of Brooklyn, NY, and Jonathan Conti of Birmingham, AL and eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

Funeral Service is at 10 a.m. today at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, FL. Interment will be at Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
