Obituary: Roy Meeks, 59
Meeks graduated from Milton High School and served in the U.S. Army.

Roy Thomas Meeks, Sr, 59 formerly of Alpharetta, departed this life on Oct. 7, 2013 at his sister's home surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born on Sept. 1, 1954 to the late James and Ruby Jewell Flynn Meeks.
Roy graduated from Milton High School, he served in the U.S. Army. Roy was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing the guitar, and loved to work in his Garden. Roy is survived by his son, Roy Thomas (Rocky) Meeks, Jr, Dahlonega; daughter, Dianna Adcox, Canton; sister and brother in law, Patricia and William Padgett, Doraville; brother Michael Meeks, Alpharetta; grandchildren, Thomas, Madison, Lyndsey and Stephanie Meeks.
A service to celebrate the life of Roy will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home with Rev. Bart Thurston officiating. Roy will be laid to rest in Green Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home.
