Longtime Owner of Roger's Florist in Downtown Alpharetta Dies

Betty Ruth Rogers Moore, 83, of Alpharetta., a longtime member of Alpharetta First Baptist Church, was interred at Green Lawn Cemetery.

A funeral service was held today, Dec. 13, for Mrs. Betty Ruth Rogers Moore, 83, of Alpharetta.

Mrs. Moore, who died Dec. 10, 2013, was a lifelong resident and for many years she owned and operated Roger's Florist on South Main Street. She also was a longtime member of the Alpharetta First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike Moore; sister, Sarah Wallace and Sue Burris, and brothers, John E. Rogers Jr. and Calvin Rogers.

She is survived by her son, Ernie Moore and his wife, Gloria; grandchildren, Jason Moore, Keely Unverzagt and her husband, Todd, and Katrina Brown and her husband, Bob; great-grandchildren, Jackson Moore, Ethan, Finley and Gunner Unverzagt, Andrew and Carson Brown; sister, Winnie Wright.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 13, at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell. The Rev. Ed Schrader and the Rev. Jeff Jackson officiated. Interment followed at Green Lawn Cemetery.
