SAVE MILTON HIGH SCHOOL TRAIL!
The Milton High School Trail is threatened by the development of a new disc golf course.
The Milton Trail area should be maintained for its traditional uses – passive recreation, running, hiking and scenic enjoyment.
SAFETY: Disc golf is like regular golf: fast moving projectiles traveling 50-80 mph, with documented injuries to people, pets and wildlife.
ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE: Disc golf causes accelerated erosion, trampling of undergrowth, and damage to tree trunks by discs flying at high speeds. Habitat degradation at disc golf courses is significant.
OPEN CAMPUS: The Milton High School Trail has multiple access points. It will be very difficult to control and regulate appropriate access times and behavior on the course by disc golfers.
We the undersigned oppose the installation of a disc golf course at the Milton Trail.
