Milton Track Team Runs Split Squad at Woodstock Wolverine Invitational

Eagle athletes run many personal bests at 2nd Annual Invitational

The Milton High School track teams brought a split squad (while some team members ran at Mill Creek High School the same day) to compete at Woodstock High Schools invitational meet on Saturday, March 8th. The boy’s team scored 16 points while the Lady Eagles added another 6 points as Harrison High School won both the boys & girls divisions.

Where team points were hard to come by, the Lady Eagles scored their only points of the meet in the 100 meters and 4x800 meter relay.  In the latter, Milton took home a solid 4th place finish (5 pts) with the team of Cameron Irby, Amal Rafii, MacKenzie Roy & Emily Versteeg. Eliza Meng added the final Milton points of the day with her 8th place finish in the 100 meters.

BOYS

With many scorers, the Eagles got points from all three relays, middle distance and both vertical jumps.  Again, the top-point scoring event was the 4x800 meter relay with a hard-fought 4th place finish (8:56.39) less than 2 seconds off of 3rd! The team of John Fravel, Zack Cammack, Valera Stettner & Nolan English saw 2 personal bests by Fravel & Cammack to lead the effort.  A 5th place effort by Sai Park in the pole vault (9’0”) was followed by three 7th place finishes by Brock Schutt in the 800 meters (2:10.77), a personal best, Spencer Greene in the high jump (5’2”) and the Eagle 4x100 meter relay team.  An 8th place run by Milton’s 4x400 meter relay team concluded Milton’s scoring for the meet.

The Eagle track teams will next be in action on Wednesday, March 12th for a dual meet at Roswell High School and then returns to the Hornet’s nest for the running of the Rotary Relays on Saturday, March 15th.
