Milton Track & Field Competes at GHSA Boys State Meet
The Eagles had three athletes at the State track & field meet in Jefferson Georgia
The boys of Milton qualified three athletes to the GHSA state track & field championships held in Jefferson, GA this past weekend. Junior Corey Claiborne-Landy started off the Eagle effort with throw of 138’ in the discus to place 12th. Caiborne-Landy has been accepted to the prestigious Throw One Deep club and will begin to train year-round with hopes of improving his finish at next year’s state meet! In the 800 meters, the remaining Milton athletes in the meet ran strong and came out with a 10th & 12th place finish. Sophomore Jack Bluth ended his incredible season with a 1:58.36 to place 6th in his semi- final running his 2nd fastest time of the season. Senior co-captain Kevin McGorrey closed out his career at Milton with a 7th place effort in the same heat as Bluth with a 2:00.02 performance. McGorrey is slated to head to GA Tech for college.

The track & field team will honor its athletes, coaches and volunteers & supporters this Wednesday evening at the Milton Center (old Milton HS) at 5:30pm.
