Boys Race

Again the Milton Eagles split their squad up into teams of 7 so 9 teams of boys were up against 4 teams of Cambridge & 2 teams from Pinecrest.  Cambridge again came up with the easy victory as their top runners again competed on one single team. Scoring 86 points the Bears easily outdistance two Milton inter-squad teams by a good margin (2nd-Team Morgan, captained by senior Drew Theil-142 pts, 3rd Happy Trailers, captained by senior Kevin McGorrey-148 pts).  In a very close individual race the entire way, sophomore Bjorn Leicher of Cambridge improved upon his county meet time from 2012 to pull away in the last 80 meters from Milton sophomore Clay Marshall to claim the race win by 10 seconds. Leicher’s time of 18:30 was a thirty second improvement!  Marshall finished in a solid runner-up position (2nd-18:40) followed by Milton junior Preston Meade (3rd-18:53).  The Eagles finished runners 4th thru 11th before the 2nd Cambridge runner had crossed the line.  An impressive run by sophomore Connor Cole (4th-19:05) dropped his course personal best by 1:12! Senior co-captain Kevin McGorrey followed (5th-19:13) along with the ever-improving sophomore Jack Bluth (6th-19:19).
