The Best Vendors at the Alpharetta Farmer's Market

We're about 3-5 years into the local farmer's market fad - a fad for those places who won't get the customers for whatever reason, but a fabulous success for the market's who keep people coming back!

One of the markets that keeps 'em coming back is the Alpharetta Farmer's Market.  And why?  Because the organizers have worked hard, are totally dedicated and know what's cool.  And what's cool?  Well, below I shall list, with no shame and complete favoritism, who I consider to be the best vendors at the Alpharetta Farmer's Market.

*The Asian Guy - Sorry.  I don't know where he is from and I don't know his name.  I just know he has great produce that it is grown without chemicals and that he is a great source for Asian greens.  Today he even had Chinese chestnuts.  Wowsa.  First cool night we get, I'm gonna roast those over the fire.

*The Hot Dog Guy - See.  I really don't know names.  But he is the only guy there selling hot dogs.  And when I say hot dogs, I don't just mean hot dogs.  Today I got the special which was a hot dog wrapped in bacon, smothered with cheese and onions and then a fried egg laid upon it, and finished off with a dollop of salsa.  I DO NOT CARE what gastro-intestinal tricks will be served upon me for eating this.  It is freaking amazing.

*Bernhard's Bakery - Love it.  Love it all.  Mostly love the Butter Cake...served in a square pan, buttery and gooey and probably 1000's of calories and worth every single one.

*And finally, but certainly not least, I go to the Alpharetta Farmer's Market for King of Pops.  King of Pops is waaaayyy cool.  Based out of Atlanta in the Poncey-Highlands area and founded by 3 brothers who got their inspiration from 'paletas', or Latin American ice pops, King of Pops sets up tents at Farmer's Market's, caters, etc. and sells the most wonderful popsicles in the world.  Listen to this list of just a few of their summer flavors:  Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita, Creamy Avocado, Tangerine Basil, Cantaloupe Ginger, Thai Tea, Fresh Peach, Arnold Palmer.  If you're a straight up chocolate person, then get Chocolate Sea Salt.  Excellent!  Today, my friend Moe was working the King of Pop's stand, so, I went and saw her and left with a Pineapple Habenero pop and a Blackberry Mojito pop.  It's incredipop.

Anyway, get out of the house on Saturday morning and go.  If you don't go for bok choi, pops, hot dogs and butter cake, you will undoubtedly find another vendor you love.  Trust me on this.
