Love Gardens? Consider Joining the GPPA

Membership in the Georgia Perennial Plant Association is for all who love gardens!

If you'd like to get a bit more serious about your flower borders and gardens and just your general knowledge of herbacious perennials (and shrubs and tropicals!) in the yard, do consider joining the Georgia Perennial Plant Association.

Fortunately for me, membership in the GPPA comes via my employment at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and what a pleasure it has been for me to take advantage of it!

The annual spring symposium was just yesterday at the ABG.  Titled, "The Inspired Gardener" - it really was inspiring.  Speakers were Tres Fromme, the Landscape Design and Planning Manager for the ABG; Parker Andes, Director of Horticulture at the Biltmore Estate; Gordon Hayward, author of Your House, Your Garden; Jason Reeves, UT Research Horticulturist out of Jackson, TN; and Rita Randolph, well known nursery owner, writer, lecturer and container gardener extraordinaire.  This was a first rate symposium and the cost very reasonable!

The GPPA hosts a lecture the third Tuesday of every month at the Atlanta History Center that is free for members.  The speakers are always excellent.
