I Agree: Local Government Outstanding

A fellow blogger wrote a piece recently thanking Alpharetta for all the good that it does and I must say it was a welcome reprieve from the negative news of late, much of which I've felt compelled to deliver, unfortunately, thanks to the City Center Part 2 political shenanigans.  

But in the midst of my saying what I feel I have to say, I have to give a shout out to this fellow blogger.  She is correct in saying there is much to be thankful for with local city government.  In fact, if I wasn't so impressed with it, I probably would not blog about the negative stuff.  The negative stuff seems like such an aberration in an otherwise, outstandingly positive place that has been managed extremely well by city manager Bob Regus.  We have an AAA bond rating which says much for Bob's management right there.  

In fact, almost all of my dealings with the city of Alpharetta have been outstandingly positive. Our special events team that carries out the Arts Festivel, Taste of Alpharetta, and much more, is, in a word, spectacular.  Our stormwater engineers are awesome, our environmental education liaison is incredible; our arborists top notch.  The city's Recreation and Parks Department, with whom I've probably had the most dealings, is the most impressive group of employees I've ever seen.  The folks over in Community Development are marvelous and professional.  Diana Wheeler will be sorely missed.  

All of the above employees of the city are ones I've dealt with over the past several years because of my involvement with a number of projects at city property.  These are wonderful and professional folks and my hat is off to them.  

So, a hearty echo to my fellow blogger - yes, thank you city of Alpharetta.
