Event To Raise Money For Special Needs Hockey Program

The Atlanta Sparks Special Needs Hockey program on Sunday will hold a fundraiser to raise money for its initiative.

The fundraiser will be held from noon to 4 p.m. June 8 at Crust Pasta & Pizzeria, which is located at 131 South Main Street in Alpharetta. 

A portion of the proceeds at the restaurant during that time will be donated to the program, a hockey league for special needs children and adults.

Atlanta Sparks launched in November and currently has between six and eight members who play at ice rinks in Alpharetta, Cumming and Marietta. 

The organization needs funds to for equipment, renting local ice rinks for games and practices and a trailer that would be used to travel to games and tournaments. 

Atlanta Sparks is part of the American Special Hockey Association.
