North Fulton CID Leader Receives Pace Award

Kerry Armstrong won the GDOT Leadership Award this week.

Kerry Armstrong, the chairman of the North Fulton Community Improvement District, received the GDOT Leadership Award during the 2013 Pace Awards presented on Wednesday.

Pace Awards were presented in 12 categories to employers, schools, property managers and individuals who are devoted to improved mobility and air quality in the region. Now in its 13th year, the PACE Awards are presented by The Clean Air Campaign, in partnership with the region’s transportation management associations and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

Another 184 Platinum Partner organizations were recognized during the celebration. To qualify as a Platinum Partner, at least 20 percent of all employee trips to an employer’s worksite must involve alternatives to driving alone, and companies must actively educate employees about commute options.  Property managers must also offer at least five amenities onsite that support commute options.

About the North Fulton CID

The North Fulton Community Improvement District was formed in 2003 by a group of business leaders committed to maintaining and enhancing the North Fulton community. It is a self-taxing district that spans from Mansell Road north to McGinnis Ferry Road. A voluntary tax, paid by commercial property owners within the District’s boundaries, funds the CIDs efforts to improve the area. The cities of Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell fall within the CID’s boundaries, and all three cities partner with the CID on projects, planning and initiatives.
