Alpharetta Company Given Energy Star Award

An Alpharetta-based company has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its commitment to managing its energy consumption.

Burton Energy Group was given the Partner of the Year —  Service and Product Provider Award "for strategically and comprehensively managing their energy use," according to a press release. 

Organizations given Partner of the Year award are recognized for promoting Energy Star products and practices in their own operations, along with providing efficient products and services in the communities they serve. 

Along with Burton, Sandy-Springs-based Beazer Homes USA, Inc., Peachtree City-based Hoshizaki America, Inc. and Decatur-based Georgia Interfaith Power & Light were all given the Partner of the Year —  Service and Product Provider Award.

Partner of the Year — Sustained Excellence awards were given to Atlanta-based Servidyne and Cobb County-based The Home Depot. This category recognized companies that "continue to exhibit exceptional leadership year after year in the Energy Star program while remaining dedicated to environmental protection through superior energy efficiency," the agency said

The federal agency recognized these companies as part of its 2014 Energy Star Awards. They are six of 127 winners across the country that were commended for their willingness to protect the environment via energy sufficiency. 

The winners were selected from 16,000 Energy Star partners, including manufacturers, retailers, public schools, hospitals, real estate companies, and home builders, for their dedication to protecting the environment through greater energy efficiency.
