United Way - Shoebox Project - Alpharetta

The United Way Women's Legacy Shoebox Project is an annual service project aimed at providing basic needs of homeless women and children in our metro community, while raising awareness about the alarming growth of this often overlooked segment of the homeless population. Comcast will have a few "Shoebox Parties" where employees can decorate and donate shoeboxes filled with new travel size toiletries.

Items needed: travel size shampoo • deodorant • travel size soap • toothbrush and toothpaste • travel size lotion • hair comb/brush • sun protector • lip balm • adhesive bandages • hand towels • antibiotic ointment • warm socks • tampons • panty liners • travel size water bottles • rain poncho • resealable zipper storage bags • prepaid phone cards • coloring books and crayons • small toys •

We cannot accept: medicine • candy • sewing kits • used or pre-opened items

Please make sure your box can be opened for safety inspections. Most of these items you can find in the travel section of stores and each item typically cost under a dollar.

The boxes will be collected after Comcast Cares Day and given to United Way. United Way will then distribute the boxes to homeless shelters in the Metro Atlanta area.

All donations are appreciated. Pre-made boxes are accepted or single item donations. Please place the items in the marked bin located on the first floor across from the elevators or drop off to the listed contacts.
