All in the Name of Beauty

Could you be living with eyelash hypotrichosis and not even know it? Fortunately there is a solution......maybe.

Do you have inadequate eyelashes? I mean it….do you? It's really bad enough that getting a little older means that certain parts get wider and somewhat rounder and then tend to head south and slightly off to the west but apparently now you have to worry about "sparse" eyelashes.

Before I saw the commercial informing me of yet another area that was obviously in need of improvement, I had been blissfully unaware that I may be eyelash deficient. I got up and looked in the mirror, inspecting my eyelashes from every angle. They all seemed to be there but could they be thicker, fuller, more alluring? To be honest I had never really considered the state of my eyelashes but now I was wondering if I had been neglectful.

I went straight to the company website which proved to be very helpful. Apparently all I needed to do was just brush on some kind of liquid chemical and before very long I would be sprouting all sorts of new eyelashes – problem solved. But wait a minute….hmmm….there seemed to be some side effects over and above the $100 price tag.

I checked out some users reviews. OK, so my eyes may become red, swollen and itchy. Well, maybe I could live with that. You also, it appears, need a very steady hand. If the kids/dog/cat happen to run into you while you are carefully applying the product to that tiny little sliver of skin right next to your eyeball you may discover side effects that you really were not prepared for. It seems that this eyelash enhancer is very good at what it does. Get it on another part of your face and you could start sprouting hair out of places where none was ever intended to grow, at least not on a woman. Excuse me? There is a chance I could actually end up with" excess" excess facial hair? If that's not bad enough the skin around your eye may become "discolored" (they didn't exactly say what color) not to mention that one or both eyes may develop permanent brown splotches which may look somewhat odd if your eyes are say…blue. I don't know, but this all seems like too much of a risk to me. I mean, not that I wouldn't love long, silky eyelashes but I am not prepared to risk sideburns, extra cheek/chin/nose hair or discolored splotches - anywhere.
