NARI Atlanta Tour of Remodeled Homes

NARI Atlanta, the local chapter of the National Association
of the Remodeling Industry, will present its Fourth Annual Tour of Remodeled
Homes Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Four homes transformed by NARI members in Milton,
Roswell and
Buckhead will be open to the public, with the remodeling teams on hand to
discuss each project and answer questions.  Proceeds from the tour will benefit the
Georgia Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.mda.org).  The tour is self-guided and will be
held rain or shine.  Tickets are $10 in
advance and $15 the day of the tour, and are available at www.AtlantaRemodelingTour.com,
along with a downloadable map showing each home location.  The 2013 Tour’s presenting sponsor is
Reliable Heating & Air/Trane.

“Every year the tour has grown in popularity, as we showcase
the beautiful and creative home renovations, expansions, kitchens, master
suites, outdoor living spaces, green improvements and more created by local
remodelers, builders and designers.  It is also extremely gratifying to partner
with MDA and donate a portion of the proceeds to them,” said Mark
Buelow, president of Distinctive Remodeling Solutions and chairman of the NARI
Tour committee.  “We also want to thank
Valerie Hoff of 11Alive News for serving as the Tour’s Honorary Chair again
this year.”

This year’s Tour homes demonstrate that remodeling projects
can often be undertaken within the home’s existing space.  All four homes feature beautiful recreation
and entertainment spaces created from formerly underutilized basements, and one
includes a landscape makeover to complement the newly-finished terrace
level.  The Bires Remodeling home
showcases a new family area, bathroom, office and entertainment center with a
wet bar and under-cabinet wine cooler and refrigerator.  For a family with teenage children,
Distinctive Home Remodeling transformed a Roswell
basement into an extension of the outdoor pool and patio area with a sauna,
steam room, custom bar and multiple TV viewing areas.

Hall Design Build, working with Home Expressions Interiors
by Laura Bloom, built out a terrace level to include a billiards room, sitting
room, bar, wine cellar, guest suite, home gym, spa, movie theater and powder
room.  They also gave the landscape a
makeover with a saltwater pool, arbor and stone retaining walls.  Neighbors Home Remodeling built “The Parent
Cave” that includes recreational space with a pool table, large-screen TV,
sitting area and wet bar, along with an enlarged bathroom and new storage
space.

The 2013 NARI Atlanta Tour of Remodeled Homes is presented
by Reliable Heating & Air/Trane and sponsored by The Home Depot, Oldcastle
Surfaces, Cowan Supply, Stock Building Supply, Atlanta Home Improvement magazine and SEMCO Productions, producer
of the Atlanta Home Show.
