Listening to a Young Atheist: The Church's Faith Lacks Sincerity

A recent article in Atlantic Monthly focused on interviews and research done with young adults in our country who now consider themselves as non-believers. Several things emerged out of these conversations, and Dr. Lane Alderman will focus on three of them.

These young adults said that too often the church is afraid to wrestle with real issues... we settle for superficial answers; the church seems to lack any real sincerity in their worship or their faith... they're just going through the motions; and finally, the church doesn't seem to realize the difference between serving in the name of Christ and just being a good person.

Why do I need to be a Christian if all I'm supposed to be is a good person?
