Amana invites you to attend an Open House on Sunday, January 27 from 2PM until 4PM.

Established in 2005 and authorized by the Georgia Department of Education and the Fulton County Schools system, Amana Academy is one of the most highly-regarded charter schools in the state of Georgia.  The school has seen breathtaking growth from 130 students in its opening year to over 660 multi-culturual students in K-8 today.

Amana follows the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, Outward Bound-inspired Expeditionary Learning model, designed to inspire the motivation to learn, engage teachers and students in new levels of focus and effort, and transform classrooms into places where students and adults become leaders of their own learning.  Individual learning styles and critical thinking skills are emphasized through in-depth, experiene-based, thematic instruction and relevant co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Amana is also unique in that it is pioneering Arabic world-language instruction in a public school setting.  The integration of Arabic across the curriculum, and in all grades, enhances cognitive skills, broadens students' perspectives and bridges cultural gaps.  Students receive 40-50 minutes of daily Arabic instruction, and those graduating from middle school receive 2 high school foreign language credits for college.

Amana is an Arabic words that means "a trust that must be nurtured and guarded."  This reflects the school's foundational principles of stewardship and responsibility which are woven into all aspects of Amana's vision and mission.

Join the school administration and teachers on January 27 to learn more about Amana Academy and the choice education they are offering Fulton County students in grades K-8.
