Trips on MARTA to Airport Take Longer This Weekend

The transit service is doing track work today and Sunday, so rail line customers need to transfer trains at Lindbergh Station.

Heading to the airport this weekend via MARTA? You'd better leave even earlier. The transit line is changing rail service schedules today, Jan. 5, and Sunday, Jan. 6 to accommodate scheduled track work. And if you are waiting for someone at North Springs station arriving from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, expect them to be later than usual.

"Customers traveling this weekend are advised to please allow extra time for their trip," MARTA's Cara Hodgson said in a news release.

Red Line trains will only operate between North Springs and Lindbergh; therefore, service between Lindbergh and Airport Stations will be running at a reduced frequency – every 20 minutes.

Customers traveling from North Springs will need to transfer to a Gold Line train at Lindbergh Station to continue southbound.
