Rain, Wind Will Make Morning Commute Rougher Today

Lows will drop below freezing for the rest of the week.

Grab your umbrella and maybe a rain coat as you head out the door this morning because the National Weather Service says the chance for rain is 100 percent. And it has issued a hazardous weather outlook for gusty winds, lightning and small hail.

Showers and a thunderstorm are possible before 1 p.m., then showers are likely after that. The high will be near 57. Wind of 10 to 15 mph will drive the rain, with gusts as high as 25 mph making it tough to hold that umbrella.

A look at radar images from the National Weather Service show the rain moving off much sooner, so hopefully we'll only have rain in the early part of the morning commute.

Despite being wet and windy, today will feel warm compared to the rest of the week. Tonight the low will be around 43, but it won't get all that much warmer on Thursday, as the high will be 52 degrees. And the wind will pick up, coming out of the west between 15 and 20 mph, and gusts up to 25 mph.

The low will drop below freezing Thursday night and dip to 27. The high isn't expected to top 50 until Sunday, when it just hits 51.
