News Nearby: Teen Arrested for Infant Death, Diplomat May Face Jail

When Mexican diplomat Mariano Saynez-Ruiz-Duran goes to court next month , he may still face jail time despite partial diplomatic immunity, reports wsbtv.com.

Saynez-Ruiz-Duran's license is currently suspended over the incident, in which Roswell Police allege he was driving 91 miles per hour on Ga. 400 with nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A Gainesville teenager has been arrested in connection with the death of her 9-day-old daughter, Olivia Clark, authorities said in a press release.

Seventeen-year-old Haley Brook Clark was booked into the Hall County Jail Monday where she is being held without bond on one count of murder.

Just after 1 p.m. on July 18, Hall County EMS units and Hall County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence located on Hopewell Lane regarding a report of an infant who had allegedly stopped breathing.

Officials are blaming a lightning strike for a house fire on Lake Lucerne Drive in Lilburn, where a strong thunderstorm moved through on Wednesday evening.

In the height of the storm around 8:41 p.m., an occupant of the home called to report the fire. The home is located in the 1930 block of Lake Lucerne Drive.

By the time firefighters reached the home seven minutes later, the man and six other people, including two children, were safely outside, according to a press release from Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services. There were no injuries reported.

The home, however, had heavy fire showing from the second floor. Crews battled the blaze back, but there is significant damage to the home, including smoke, heat and water damage throughout, officials said.

A judge will decide whether Andrea Sneiderman will be deposed in jail over a visitation dispute with her in-laws, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Sneiderman's attorneys are asking a Fulton County Superior Court Judge to allow a continuance on the deposition. Meanwhile, Esther Panitch, the attorney for Sneiderman's in-laws, brought up the possibility that Sneiderman may not be released from jail aftr her bond hearing Aug. 21 and therefore should proceed with the deposition. Sneiderman's in-laws have sought more visitation with their two grandchildren. 

Sneiderman was arrested last week on suspicion of being involved with the murder of her husband Russell Seniderman. The couple lived by the Dunwoody Library before Russell Sneiderman was killed in Novemeber 2010. Hemy Neuman, Sneiderman's former boss, was convicted in the killing of Russell Sneiderman. Authorities say Andrea Sneiderman acted as a co-conspirator.
