An Acworth man fatally shot a woman before turning the gun on himself on Sunday morning, according to a Marietta Police Department spokesman. 

Henry Harlan Wooten, 70, of Acworth and Kay Cornell Janus, 72, of Marietta had been involved in a long-term relationship, Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin said. Read Acworth Patch for more on this story.

Lawrenceville Man Dies Following Car Crash Sunday – Lawrenceville Patch

A man died from a car crash Sunday in the city of Lawrenceville.

According to Sgt. C.D. Ralston of the Lawrenceville Police Deparment's Special Operations Division, 21-year-old Lawrenceville resident Sabrija Alic was driving  on Springlake Road near Saddle Shoals Drive around 4:15 p.m.

His black Honda was traveling west when he lost control of the car. The vehicle left the roadway and drove into several trees. Read Lawrenceville Patch for more on this story.


Still No Suspects in Sun Glo Car Wash Killing

On a warm, sunny day in Cartersville, a young woman washes her car as other patrons prepare to soap and vacuum their vehicles at Sun Glo Car Wash, where months earlier 28-year-old local resident R.J. Statler was shot once and killed.

Despite to the arrest of the person responsible, police have no suspects in the on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Statler was found after 11 p.m., lying in a car wash stall next to his pickup truck. He had been "mudding" with family earlier in the day. .


Driver Killed on 575 in Sunday Afternoon Accident
- Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch

The driver of a Ford Explorer was killed on Interstate 575 northbound between Canton and Ball Ground in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon, authorities say.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the Explorer left the right side of the roadway at Bethany Road and struck a bridge pillar, killing the driver. See Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch for more on this story.
