Milton Opens Friendship Community Park at Christmas in Crabapple

The city, the Fulton Schools System and Crabapple Community Association helped kick off the holiday season and the park opening on Saturday afternoon.

Friendship Community Park is the name chosen for Milton's first new park in its six years of existence. The name was revealed in a ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 1 that came as part of the Christmas in Crabapple celebration.

The two-acre pocket park was the dream of Crabapple Crossing Elementary Principal George Freiberger for eight years. It took the formation of the city to make that happen, said Fulton County School Board member Katie Reeves.

This pocket park is a partnership with Fulton County Schools. Nestled between Crabapple Crossing Elementary and Northwestern Middle schools, it will be used by both. The middle school will use it as a classroom while the elementary school will use it as a playground.
